THE VENUE
Spruce Meadows is an internationally-recognized equestrian facility, and plays host to many show-jumping competitions throughout the year. We won't be getting married in a stable, though!
The property is so beautifully landscaped it also functions as a park space, with over 360 acres open to the public year-round.
If the weather is as nice as we hope it will be on our day, you will have time to explore the paved paths that criss-cross the grounds under a canopy of mature trees. The stables of horses are open to the public, and there is a playground within a minute's walk of both our ceremony and reception site. While we expect you'll be very busy celebrating with us, we hope you have the chance to enjoy the beauty of our venue!
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony is slated to be outdoors! Weather permitting, we'll be married on a lawn. Please choose your shoes accordingly! In the event of poor weather, not to worry: we have an alternate indoor location lined up very nearby the original ceremony space. We expect to know the night before if we will have to move the ceremony indoors.
Following the ceremony, the bride and groom will hurry off for pictures with their family, and then join everyone else at a cocktail hour to begin the reception. The cocktail hour is slated to begin at 4:30PM.
During the ceremony, we ask that you please leave your cameras off and don't take pictures - we hired somebody to do that! More importantly, we want you to be fully present as we say our vows.
THE RECEPTION
The reception will officially begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 4:30 PM, and as such there might be a brief waiting period between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception.
This gap of time is to allow the bride and groom to have pictures done with their families, but don't worry! There is lots to do and see on the grounds of Spruce Meadows.
Following the cocktail hour, we'll have dinner and listen to some speeches, and then get our dance on!
