How do I get to the hotel and/or venue?

Do I need a passport to travel from the US to Canada?
Yes. While once you only needed photo ID, now you absolutely need a valid passport to cross the border. Standard passport applications take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to process, so please plan ahead!
Are there any events happening on July 19-21 besides the wedding?
Yes! Please check out the ‘Welcome Party’ tab of the website to learn more about the official meet-and-greet on the night of July 19th. We’ll also be hanging around the hotel the morning of July 21st after the wedding for a late breakfast/brunch and to socialize with any who care to stop by!
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
The ceremony will begin at 3PM on July 20th. To ensure that you have plenty of time to arrive, park, and find your seat, we suggest you arrive around 2:45PM.
Where should I park?
Please park in parking lot #4 at Spruce Meadows, which is adjacent to the ceremony and reception sites. We plan to have it marked.
Will I have to pay for parking? Can I leave my vehicle parked overnight?
No, you will not need to pay for parking. Yes, you absolutely can leave your vehicle parked overnight (and we encourage you to do so if you're planning on drinking!).
Is there transportation being provided between reception and hotels?
Transportation
will not be provided between the reception and the hotel. There will be
free parking at the venue, and we’ll be posting the phone numbers for
local taxi services at the reception for your convenience.
What should I wear?
Something slick! Keep in mind that though it will be the height of summer, and Calgary’s summer weather is very unpredictable. We suggest you prepare for hot and sunny, but pack a jacket or a wrap, just in case. Also please keep in mind that the ceremony will be on a grass lawn, and plan your footwear accordingly.
Is there a dress code?
The bride would request that you please refrain from wearing a wedding dress. Other than that, summer cocktail attire will do. :)
I am coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
We suggest the Delta South Hotel. Please see the Travel & Accommodation section of our website for more information!
When is the RSVP deadline?
May 31, 2013.
I don't really have to send my RSVP card back, do I?
Of course not! But please plan to bring your own chair and a sandwich. :)
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes! The ceremony location is on a grass lawn, but is flat terrain and adjacent to a paved parking lot and sidewalk.
What should/could I do between the ceremony and the reception?
There’s a very small gap of time between the ceremony at 3PM and the official start of the reception at 4:30PM, but we have no doubt you’ll have lots to see and do. Please enjoy the scenery and landscaping, have a quick walk around the beautiful paved walkways, entertain your children (and yourselves!) at the adjacent playground.
Will food be served?
Yes. We’ll be feeding you a selection of passed hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour, followed by a seated dinner service. Late in the evening, we’ll have a make-it-yourself sandwich buffet, so don’t hesitate to work up an appetite dancing!
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please make note of it on your RSVP card, or email us at r2gettinghitched@gmail.com. We’ll do everything we can to accommodate you!
How will the bar be run?
Aside from the cocktail hour and wine with dinner, the drinks will be offered from a toonie bar (operated via tickets). For our American guests: a 'toonie' is a Canadian coin that is a $2 denomination, and a 'toonie bar' means that drinks will be offered for $2 a piece (via ticketseller).
Does the bar accept cards / will there be an ATM nearby?
For your convenience, our ticketsellers for the bar will accept major cards. While there is an ATM on the grounds of Spruce Meadows, it is not near our venue, so please plan accordingly.
Will there be dancing?
So much dancing.
What time will the reception end?
Last call for the bar will be at midnight, with the last round of drinks served at 12:30PM. We all have to be out by 1AM.
Is there an afterparty?
There is no official afterparty, but we encourage you crazy hooligans to continue your celebrations at the hotel if you’re not ready for bed.
Where are the bride and groom staying the night of the wedding?
Well wouldn't YOU like to know. Top secret, sorry.
Can I take pictures at your wedding?
Please feel free to bring your camera and take pictures at the reception, but don’t at all feel obligated, as we’ve hired a pair of very talented photographers to document our special day! During the ceremony, we ask you refrain from taking pictures, so that you may be fully present during our vows. We’ll probably have our officiant remind you of this at the start of the ceremony, in case you forget.

While your presence at our wedding is all we could ever ask for, we are registered at a few stores. Please visit our Registry page for more information.
Where are you honeymooning?
We're spending a few days in Vancouver. Let us know if you have any recommendations on what we should do while we're there!
Who is your photographer?
We’ve hired Erin and Andrew of Photographik, a Calgary-based photography team. They are fantastically talented people and extremely charming!
Who designed the invite?
Both the save-the-dates and the invitations were designed by Regan and printed/assembled with lots of (very patient!) help from the mother of the groom, Lorrie.
